March 17 – Safety Escort will be closed for the remainder of the semester. Pending further COVID-19 developments, we plan to resume service on May 11.
As a student-run service, we value the health and safety of all our riders and drivers. If you are sick, we ask that you do not use public transportation, ride-sharing services, or taxis and that you follow these steps from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
IU Safety Escort will not operate during the two weeks following spring break:
Free safe rides for IU students and employees
Does your walk home or to work feel unsafe? IU Safety Escort provides free safe rides within Bloomington city limits for up to two IU students, faculty, or staff.
If you're having trouble requesting service through TapRide, call us at 812-855-SAFE. We're busy with pickups and dropoffs during our service hours—but we'll answer your call as soon as we can.
If this is an emergency, call 911
We're not an emergency service—please call 911 if you are in immediate danger. If you are not in immediate danger but need a law enforcement officer, call IU or city police.
